Kids' Prevention Product Give-away

Yesterday was the first day of school. Sherie's kids have lice already?!!! No, and I plan to keep it that way.
I have long hair, as I have pretty much most of my life. I've never had head lice, but growing up in a big family, when one was found to have lice, the treatment was given to everyone...just to make sure. Yes, that stinky, eye-burning shampoo and the super-duper fine tooth comb that I'm sure first came to pass as a medieval torture device. I hate lice treatments, but I really hate the thought of tiny bugs taking up residence on one of us, then two...and so on until my family is covered. So I'm pretty sure that normal people don't get a tiny itch on their heads and instantly think, "Oh my gosh, do I have lice??!!" I'll be the first to tell you I'm not normal.

As the weeks approaching school passed, I never once thought of the possibility of my long-haired daughter bringing home lice. But then I learned that the University of Florida conducted a study that indicated that back-to-school is when head lice are most commonly transmitted. Yes, I know that lice are not a sign of poor hygiene, and that they don't carry disease. I still don't want them.
With the threat of looming infestation, I learned about a new product line called "Lice Free Zone" by Circle of Friends. You might recognize it from our Citrus Picks "Mommy's School Supplies" because the peace of mind that you're preventing a lot of work in the future is so worth it!
Its key ingredients are tea tree, Andiroba and Lavender oils. All of which are proven to repel lice naturally and safely. Add to that Lemon Peel Oil as a cleanser, and it's sulfate (an irritant) free! I'm also drawn to this product because it not only repels lice, but other insects too.
I'm not certain of the effectiveness of the product, simply because my kindergartener hasn't gotten lice. I'm going to assume that means it's working. I'm more convinced of its effectiveness because it's a duo of shampoo and leave-in conditioner. You can spray the leave-in conditioner on wet/dry hair in the morning. The product stays in your child's hair.
So I like this product because it means I'm not treating the problem with pesticides (seriously, think about it), I'm preventing with high quality natural ingredients.  Also, it does a great job leaving her hair silky smooth.  I'm tempted to try it myself...
My daughter likes the "kid friendly" scent. It's supposed to be lavender, but she says it smells like Fruit Loops. Hey, that just makes it all the more kid friendly, right?
Even though I'm using this product, it doesn't mean I'm not still checking my daughter for lice. I'm just not checking her every day. ha! ha!

"Lice Free Zone" can be purchased by ordering online, or at a local salon or boutique near you.

Who would like to try out "Lice Free Zone" from Circle of Friends? Enter by leaving a comment here, and one of you will be randomly selected to win a Shampoo and Leave-in Conditioner Duo Pack! Just enter by midnight on September 9! Continental U.S. only. Thanks Circle of Friends!

I too live in fear of lice! MY hair is long and curly and I still cringe thinking about that fine tooth comb! Seriously, lice are terrible, I drill it into my childrens heads to not share hair brushes, etc and they thankfully haven't brought any lice home, but extra peace of mind would be great!

This is the first product I've heard about that focuses on the prevention of lice rather than the treatment. Sure sounds good to me!

Great idea - I have had lice twice, once as a kid and about 6 years ago that I got from my nieces.

There's ALWAYS lice at school. We've been lucky, so I'd probably donate this to the school for the unlucky families to use.
