Give Away: Blessed Nest Nest Egg

From the moment I laid eyes on the Boppy to the first and last time I tried to use it I wondered what the big deal was all about. Why does every mom feel like she can't live without her Boppy? I just didn't get it. I thought the nursing pillow was cumbersome and got in the way more than it aided the process. It didn't bend and stuck out like a sore thumb- and so did the fabric. So, I nursed my first child hunching over him or trying to hold his increasing weight off my lap and at my "level". A nursing pillow is a must have for all nursing moms I could agree with that but I just needed to find the right pillow. That's when I was at a friends house and her little preemie was propped up on the Blessed Nest. She raved about the pillow and how she used it for nursing as well as in her son's bassinet to prop him up and prevent acid reflux episodes.
The Blessed Nest is indeed a blessing. It is a soft, organic terry and cotton pillow filled with buckwheat hulls. Now, I know the word buckwheat hull doesn't make me think "soft pillow" but you would be surprised! The hulls move about freely making the pillow moldable and movable to any form you need while once the hulls are rested next to each other they lock together like a puzzle making the pillow comfortably supportive. My favorite aspect of the buckwheat pillow is that air is able to circulate between the hulls making the pillow non-insulating. So, does not mom and baby don't get hot (especially nice if you use a nursing cover too!) AND when you have a bun in your oven and use the nest as a body pillow you won't overheat when the hot flashes come on.

The covers are soft and stylish (i.e. The pillow doesn't sit on your couch and say "This house belongs to baby now!!" And best of all, the slipcover easily zips off so you can throw it and any spit up mess in the washing machine.
Since I was uncomfortable nursing sitting, I nursed laying in bed as often as I could. But being a new mom I often dozed off in that position and if I was nursing on the side that required my son to lay next to the edge I was always worried he would roll off. The Blessed Nest pillow can be used as a barrier between the edge of bed and baby for this purpose. Unlike a light cotton pillow that could roll off the 6 lb Blessed Nest will stick in place.

In addition to its substantial weight the pillow is just the right size. At 30 inches wide, 16 inches deep and 5 inches tall, its large for a nursing pillow and an infant body support but not a gigantic body pillow. The Nest Egg is a smaller more portable option. The oval shaped pillow is great to have in the car or to pack in your large stroller basket so you can have a pillow on the go. Its light and just what you need when trying to nurse in an already uncomfortable public place.

In the above photo the mother is using the Nest Pillow and the Nest Egg.

Who would like a Blessed Nest Nest Egg? One lucky winner will win a Nest Egg, a $42 value!! Comment on this post by midnight Wednesday, December 3rd for a chance to win. Winner will be chosen randomly.

My sister is due anyday and she will be nursing this child just as she did her now 2 and 3 yr old. This would be a wonderful item for her to have.

I wasn't in love with the boppy either, and ended up not really using it. I'd love to try this with my next baby.

These are so cool! My Boppy didn't work so well since I am short-waisted, had a c-section, and was determined to hunch over my baby for some reason while nursing, too. Yikes! My little one also had reflux, and we really didn't have much other than propping her on a little pile of blankets. This is the coolest!`

I too dislike the boppy. This looks like a blissed thing that I need!!! Make back hurts so bad after a night feeding from leaning over my baby!
