Hansel and Gretel No More: the OnTray Giveaway

We've all heard 'Never go to the grocery store hungry.'  Sounds easy, but even if I eat beforehand I always get hungry while I'm shopping.  Call it a manic response to the darned appealing food packaging or whatever.  Regardless, if I get hungry when I'm surrounded by food, my kids will too.

My solution: let them eat at the store.  And if they're going to be eating anyway, why not eat at lunchtime?

Every Wednesday (double coupon day) we head to the grocery store with our OnTray.   The OnTray is a 5x5 inch container that clips to the handle of your cart, and rests on the lap bar.  It comes with a lid so I just pack my baby's little lunch inside ahead of time.  Basically it's like a small bento box with a clip.  You can save money and waste by avoiding plastic baggies.

We no longer have a problem with leaving a trail of raisins or Cheerios behind us.  As convenient as it was to follow our tracks back to the entrance, my little girly now eats with her pincer grip instead of her fist.  Apparently that makes for a much cleaner eater since she can easily see the food in front of her instead of blindly reaching into a bag for a handful of food.  Plus, I love that my thirsty baby can always keep her drink at arm's reach, now that I don't have to keep grabbing it from the bag.

The OnTray is BPA free, but also dishwasher and microwave safe.

Bonus Pro: Don't just use it at the grocery store!  Keep your bike trailer crumb free because the OnTray hooks onto my Burley!

The Con:  It is possible for your little one to pull the OnTray off the handle of your cart.

The OnTray is available in 4 colors at these retailers or online for $7.00 (plus shipping).  But I did hear that it could be available at your local Meijer.

Who wants to win an OnTray?  Just comment here on how the OnTray will make your life easier.  Enter by midnight on Tuesday, March 24th to win!  Thanks for the giveaway OnTray!

The OnTray would definitely make my life easier at all stores! I never used to do my major grocery shopping with my kids but I don't have a choice right now. Maybe we'd get through the store quicker with the OnTray!

omg I was thinking of this product JUST YESTERDAY. I was running errands and shopping at Ross and the grocery store and my nine month old was hungry, and I was trying to feed her Cheerios in the stores. She kept throwing her little travel container down on the floor. I read about this product on another blog a few months ago, and I was totally wishing I had one yesterday! If I don't win this, I think I'm going to go ahead and buy one. I'm all about making life a little easier and a little more pleasant. :)

I was just shopping today and hurrying to leave before I started buying EVERYTHING that looked somewhat delicious. My daughter is the same way, even if we just ate, she always wants a snack. We go through a lot of baggies. Here's hoping we're on our way to a OnTray!

What a great idea! My girls would love to eat at their own pace and I would love to get shopping done at the grocery store.

This ontray would make my life easier because it would mean (hopefully) no more spills! We've tried plastic containers but they always mysteriously end up upside down with a trail of food behind our cart. :)

I love it! We just had an episode at the grocery store where he took a bite out of a lemon and then tomato while in plastic wrap. This would be great

This would make my life easier by:
1) giving my son a tray for his toys and items to sit on which makes shopping easier for me.
2) If I'm alone I have a place to put my coupons!

Having a tray for the kids to snack from while we're shopping would make the shopping trip a whole lot easier! (Hopefully it would keep the kids happy!)

I would LOVE an ontray! I have a 2 year old and a 9 month old. The 9 month old is finally old enough to ride in the shopping cart... but we need snacks to keep her content. However, while rangling in the 2 year old who is walking, trying to just keep the baby stocked in puffs with my hands is more than difficult -- which is how I did it when I was just taking care of one baby. I LOVE this idea. I hope it will still work through a shopping cart cover.

THis is awesome, my sone always wants something to eat in the grocery store and I end up bring stuff in a placstic container or bag and it ends up all over the stores floor. THis would be great just to click on the cart!

I would love to give this to my friend Cathy, she's a grandma to beautiful Sophie. She could use this at the grocery store or any shopping place that has a cart. It would be so helpful to keep Sophie somewhat occupied while browsing all the aisles.

This is a fabulous invention! I always have to have snacks at the store to "bribe" my daughter to stay in the cart so I can race around to get my shopping done. OnTray would save me from constantly digging into my sinking bag to find the next snack!

This would keep my little one happy and preoccupied while I am out shopping and mingling with those I may know and won't have to worry about my daughter grabbing products from the shelves.

Wow...how cool!

No more rolling over goldfish crackers I didn't know my son has dropped and then trying to pick up crumbs so people don't think I'm horribly irresponsible.

This would definitely make life easier... To go shopping with my 2-year-old and 3-month-old is hectic enough as it is, so when my older daughter wants a snack, the last thing I want to do is pull out baggie after baggie of things and watch her drop things all over the dirty cart!

Thanks!
