Watergeeks Laboratories

I am a fan of bottled water. It is a quick and easy remedy to my thirst, and it doesn't taste like NYC city water- which is a good thing. In the past, buying bottled water by the flat has been a guilty pleasure. "Guilty" because I know that it is an expensive way to drink water, and because I know that many of my bottles have made their way to a landfill.

Currently in the US, bottled water is the most consumed beverage. It beats out milk, juice and soda. Every year the world consumes 10 billion bottles of water- of which only around 10% are recycled.

I have purchased reusable drink containers in the past- only to still prefer bottled water because of the taste issue. So, finding the Watergeeks Laboratories Filtered Sport water bottle has solved my water woes.
The Watergeeks Filtered Sport Bottle is a BPA-free bottle with a filter that attaches to the spout. Freshly filtered water with every swig. Very good idea. The water tastes fantastic, the water bottle is economical (about 9 cents a bottle), convenient, and reusable- my conscience is cleared. The filter will last up to 200 refills (about 3 months), and new filters can be purchased when that day comes.

Watergeeks also has a Bio-Filtered Hiking Bottle, which I have never tried- but want to. The dual filter in this bottle includes a Sub-Micron Biological filter which will remove 99.99-99.999% of the bacteria, cysts, protozoa, and cryptosporidium from your drinking water. This sounds like a perfect addition to our family's emergency 72-hr-kits.

If your water tastes great, and you want to go filter-free, Watergeeks Laboratories also carries a line of Stainless Steel water containers. These are very reasonably priced, and come in 33, and 20 oz sizes.

Watergeeks Laboratories hails from Canada. You will notice this when you peruse there website and find the prices in Canadian dollars. Shipping is $10 per order, but free if you purchase more than $100.

Who would like to win a Watergeeks Laboratories Filtered Sport Bottle? 3 lucky Citrus readers will win! Enter by leaving a comment on this post by midnight, September 30th. Winners will be announced on the morning of Oct. 1. Shipping to US and Canada only.

How neat! My husband would love this for when he gets water at work. I don't think he cares to much for the water there and maybe filtering it would help.
