Aren't these shoes fun? Before attending the Bubble Trade show here in NYC this summer, I had never even heard of the children's shoe brand, Umi. It has been around since 2004, so I guess I have been in the dark for a few years now.
Perusing through the Umi product line, you would be certain their shoes are European. Quality materials and unique design are a part of every shoe in their line. Umi shoes even have European sizing. Surprisingly, their headquarters are in Milwaukee, WI- go USA!
My daughter has loved these Umi Seraph boots from day one. They are comfortable, durable, and a little unexpected with the red color. They are her shoes of choice, especially during the cold weather we have been experiencing lately. She has walked through a few rain storms and puddles in these, and still has dry socks when we return home. Umi makes no claim that these are waterproof, but I will say from our experience, they are very water resistant. You can purchase the Umi Seraph line (I also love the brown boot) at Zappos or Piperlime. As you can see from the Zappos Reviews, we are not alone in our love for this boot. If you prefer to shop in-store, Umi also has a list of retailers on their website.
Umi also makes infant shoes that I adore. Check out the upturned toes on these cute shoes. I love the looks of these. These "crib" shoes come in sizes 17-20 (EUR) 2.5-5 (USA). These have flexible leather soles with non-slip rubber disks, cushioned insoles, and an all-leather upper.
Have you noticed the price markdowns that seem to be everywhere lately? There are some deals out there, and they are making my Christmas shopping a little less painful. These infant shoes range in price from $38-45 when regularly priced. I have seen some deals out there (particularly on Amazon.com) where some styles are as low as $15 with free shipping. I also found these snow boots at 50% off.
Who would like to try out some Umi Shoes? Umi will be giving away a pair of crib shoes (Eur size 17-20) to one lucky citrus reader! You will get to select the style and size from their spring 2009 catalog- lucky you! Make a comment on this post by midnight, January 8th to enter. Continental US shipping only. Good luck!
