Free Cosmetics?

Did you purchase cosmetics (including fragrances) from a major department store during any year spanning 1994-2003? If so, there may be a freebie waiting for you at the counter of your nearest Macys, Dillards, Bloomingdales, Saks 5th Avenue, or Nordstrom (actually there are more stores, look for the list here).

There was a class action law suit recently settled that required these major department stores (accused of price fixing) to give away $174 million dollars worth of cosmetics to their past customers. Yes, $174 million.

Truthfully, it makes me kind of ill to think of that much money (especially during these financial times) being poured out in free make-up, but it is what it is.... by court mandate.

So, you can head to your nearest department store, and get in line for your free product. One product per customer. Do you need a receipt? No, thank goodness, who keeps receipts for 6 years??

Yes, it is true. Check out the news story here. Check out the list of stores, and the products they will be giving out, here.

They will be giving out product until the 26th, or until it runs out.

P.S- sorry if my post yesterday put a damper on your excitement over free make-up :)
